ay-rOop [ajRup] interj. – 18th century; \"heave ho!\" v. 1830; onomat.
1• An exclamation made up of onomatopoeias, accompanies the driving in of rope grips and pulling guy ropes: the same utterance, \"heave ho\", is used by those putting up the big top at the circus.
Since it was founded in 2005, ay-rOop has been positioned as a centre for initiatives and services for performance arts. We assist artistic teams with their creative, organisational, development and partnership projects, as well as carrying out missions relating to administration, production organisation and dissemination for a wide variety of artistic projects. We are positioned as a centre for pooling resources and skills, offering solutions to the economic and social challenges faced by drama companies.
The artistic creations we provide assistance for range from circus arts to digital arts via puppetry, magic and more. Spanning stage arts, circus arts, even culinary arts and including works aimed at children both young and old, the different disciplines meet and combine to occupy a single arena – that of the imagination.
Our ethos is based around having a collective approach to promoting the singular.
